Rottweiler Dog Show

MKA organized a Rottweiler Specialty Show today at Yok Bin Secondary School, Melaka. More than 40 dogs participated in this dog show. What is a dog show, anyway? Simply put, it’s a beauty contest for dogs. Cool, eh? In actual sense, it’s a show that judge the dog on how well it’s physical traits and temperament meet the breed standard.


There is only one judge and his word is final. Mr Fernando Lucas Martins is from Portugal and he has been a Rottweiler breeder for the past 27 years. Well, with that kind of background, no one dare to challenge his decision - so if he said dog A is the champion, we better said, "Aye" to that...

Marks are given not based on the first look alone. Close examination is required. For example, teeth must be even - one missing tooth would disqualify a participant.





You also need to show that you can run...and run like a real dog. "Run doggie...run..."
