New Flowers: Three Months and Angelonia

We were visiting some nurseries last weekend, supposedly to buy some fertilizers for our roses but ended up with our car brimming with flowers instead. These flowers are simply way too gorgeous not to own them. Alright, blame it on our impulsive instinct...:)

This is called "pokok bunga tiga bulan", translated as Three Months. Odd name, I know. I checked out wikipedia. Apparently, it is a tree species flower Hydrangea originated from Japan. And I discovered a little fact: the color of the flowers can vary from white to a range of blue to purple to pink, depending on the pH of the soil. How interesting, eh?

And this is called Angelonia (nope, it's not named after Angelina Jolie). It was said the flowers need warm temperatures and large amount of sunlight. Well, we do have lots of that, don't we?

Now, the challenge is to ensure they survive...:) Ah...I so like gardening!

Bubbly's Top 10 Expressions

A pug has many expressions. They can look depressing one minute and the very next, radiant and happy. Some of our friends say pugs are so ugly, "Of all dogs, why rear a pug with that wrinkled ugly face?" Obviously, one man's meat is another man's poison. For us, Bubbly is adorably ugly.

These are the many expressions of Bubbly caught on camera. Well, since there are ten of them, hence the title, Top 10 Expressions.

Hello, world! (the classic blank expression)

I'm the guardian of this garden. I'm dead serious about my job.

Yes, master?

Wassap?

Oh my goodness! (in shock)

Ok, I promise I'll be a good girl.

What looking you?

Can play with me, please?

Oooh...are you checking out my butt?

Are we done yet?

Vinca Attacked By Caterpillars

Vinca or Periwinkle is one of the most common plants you can find in local nurseries. The plants are grown for its glossy and green foliage as well as its variety color of flowers.

We do not have many vinca now because most of them bought earlier were attacked by caterpillars. A pot of vinca can be gone in one night, that’s how ferociously hungry these caterpillars can be.

This one(below) was the only survivor although we read propagation is rather easy. Well, probably vinca wasn’t my top favorite, so, I didn’t really bother. But last week, we almost lost this too.

Yes, the caterpillars were back, almost with a vengeance....LOL

Luckily, we were quick to spot them this time.

We killed those that we can see with our physical eyes but to be safe, nothing beats prescribing some garden voodoo aka pest control...:)

Who Gets The Ball?

Hey, Bly? Wants to play "catch ball"?

Bly: Yeah, sure...

C'mon Confi, up for a game?

Confi: Wassap...where's my ball?

Ok, I'm going to throw the ball now...

Confi: Haha...Bly, no way you can fight with me..

Bly: This is so unfair.... does size matters that much?

Confi: Now, you're talking sense. Of course, size matters....kekekke

Ok, recess time. Take a drink first.

Bly: Man, even getting a drink, I'm losing to her...cis!

Confi: C'mon Bly. You gotta play fair. No ass attack!

Bly: GIVE ME THE BALL!!!

Confi: You want the ball, you've to COME and get it.

Confi: kekeke...oh, poor you...

At the end, Bubbly din get to touch the ball at all. But the ball makes a huge difference. Without the ball, they end up like this...
